Celebrate Local Printmaking Talent at the 2026 PAWA Contemporary Print Media Awards Opening Night – 15 May

The Printmakers Association of Western Australia (PAWA) invites ALL to experience the cutting edge of contemporary printmaking at the opening night and awards presentation of the 2026 PAWA Contemporary Print Media Awards on Friday 15 May.

Bringing together a dynamic selection of artists (emerging to established) from across Western Australia, the exhibition showcases the breadth and innovation of local contemporary print practice. From traditional techniques to experimental and expanded approaches —including sculptural, digital, and 3D print media—the Awards highlight the ever-evolving possibilities of the printmaking medium.

Founded in 1974 by a group of dedicated printmakers, PAWA has played a vital role in supporting and championing printmaking in Western Australia for over 50 years. Based at Atwell House & Gallery, the organisation fosters a vibrant and inclusive community through exhibitions, workshops, skill-sharing initiatives, and professional development opportunities.

PAWA supports artists at all stages of their creative journey—encouraging experimentation and the pursuit of excellence in printmaking. Through its programs and annual exhibitions, the association promotes the production, appreciation, and collection of traditional and contemporary fine art prints across the state. Members benefit from a strong network of peers, access to visiting artists, speakers and studio space, as well as opportunities to engage with renowned print collections.

As one of Western Australia’s leading print-focused exhibitions, the PAWA Contemporary Print Media Awards continues to elevate the profile of Australian printmaking while fostering meaningful connections between artists and audiences.
